HST Mosaic

I never really thought of myself as a pattern writer. Over the last few years, I have been doing just that. When I stop and think back to all of the creative projects I have done through the years, I was writing a pattern. I just never wrote down the steps.

I made hammers out of foam and duct tape. I have made an apple pie, because I couldn’t guarantee a real one would make it to a production. I’ve made a mummy costume with a live model because it wouldn’t go together otherwise.

Anyway, March 2025 brought a whole different kind of challenge. I was submitting quilt designs to Lumin Fabrics and they were accepting them! Lumin Fabrics used to be only known as Island Batik. In 2025, they expanded. Their ECCO Cotton line is stunning. They started with a few basic colors and have doubled their offerings. This quilt was designed using their ECCO Solid line.

I designed the block as a 12″ x 12″ finished block. This one finishes at 6″ x 6″. Included in the full pattern are other colorations, as well as the ECCO Cotton SKUs that were used. You can get your full version below. The PDF is discounted from July 5, 2026 until July 12, 2026.
